Bedding is in! :)

So I'm super excited that our bedding FINALLY came in today! :) I only ordered it in early January!!!! It's been on backorder but came in today and I absolutely LOVE it! I washed the sheets ( I ordered an extra one with the bedding set) and we put it all in the crib. So basically the nursery is complete! We still have pictures to hang, a toy bag to hang * and stuff a bunch of those stuffed animals my husband can't stop buying in it!*,  and the letters (once we have a name) to hang but that's it. Oh and of course adding the BABY! The wait so far hasn't been too bad but now that I'm finished working on the nursery, I'm afraid it will get a LOT harder!!!!

Waiting...

It seems like thru the entire adoption process (so far at least) you are always waiting. Waiting for Ryan to get on board with Adoption, waiting on the agency to acknowledge our preliminary application, waiting for them to process our preliminary application, waiting to be accepted into the program, waiting to start the home study, waiting on background checks to come back.... etc...

If you know me, you know that I'm definitely not the most patient person in the world. Actually my husband might say that I'm the least patient person in the world! :) Right now I'm waiting on our home study to officially be approved and it's driving me crazy to say the least!!! Our caseworker went ahead and gave our profile's to the birthparent counselors weeks ago and we are already online so this is really just a technicality but I still would like to know that we are officially approved and nothing is going to come up that needs to still be done. I'm really hoping that once we finally get this in hand, the waiting won't be as bad because then we are truly just waiting on our baby!!!! :) I know God has a plan and I believe he has used my infertility and now the adoption process to help me become a more patient person. Believe it or not, I have grown in this area, however, still have a hard time waiting on other people! I'd much rather do things myself than wait on someone else to do it! I'm sure I can't be alone in this. I'm also pretty certain that our caseworker is extremely ready to be finished with us so that she will not see my name in emails everyday anymore... hehehe... I'm just kidding.. I don't email everyday.. it's more like every few weeks which hopefully isn't too much more than she gets from other adoptive couples. There really wasn't a point in this blog post but I hadn't posted anything in a while and I needed something to do to keep me from emailing our caseworker yet again to find out what in the world is taking so long!!

Our Profile can be shown!!! :)

I finally heard from our caseworker yesterday and apparently she gave our profile books to the birthparent counselors last week! :) I'm super excited! She's almost finished with our home study and it should be officially approved any day. It's such a great feeling to know that now it really can happen at any time!!!

Last night we ordered a few accessories for the nursery online. We found a penguin picture that is 3 penguins ( mom, dad, & baby in the middle). It's so cute and I can't wait to get it! I also ordered some wall decals. So far, I've ordered a whale, penguin, & polar bear. I'm going to wait till I get those and see how they look before I order anymore. I'm not sure if we will use them all but they looked cute online! It's so hard to find decorating accessories with penguins, polar bears, & whales! I thought it would be easy. :) I hope everyone is having a good week! Monday was a holiday and for some reason, short weeks always seem so long to me!!! I can't believe it's still only Thursday.

Long Weekend...

Don't you just love 3 day weekends? They are the greatest! We have spent ours so far painting the nursery. It was a LOT of work but so worth it. Ryan decided that he wanted to make it a little interesting for us. He designed it and did about 95% of the work. Not because I wouldn't help but because when he gets into a project like that, he gets very possessive about it. I helped some but mostly stayed and kept him company. Anyways we finally finished tonight and are so happy with it! I just can't wait till the bedding is in so it will look more put together!

We are still waiting to be officially waiting.. :)

Last week, our caseworker emailed and said that our physicals lacked 2 specific blood tests that were required for our home study. :( I was bummed but actually think I knew that and blocked it out because I am deathly afraid of needles! I faced my fears though and got the 2 tests done and sent the results to our caseworker today! :) Yay... So we are waiting to be officially waiting. It shouldn't be long now. We have completed all of the paperwork & requirements for the home study now which feels SOOOOO good! I can't wait to post that we are officially waiting!

We picked up the crib today! Hopefully Ryan will put it together on Friday while he is off. Last week, he put together the changing table we bought & the wonderful high chair my in-laws gave me for Christmas. We also bought the pack-n-play last weekend and got it put together as well. It's so exciting to have baby stuff in the house that is ours and not my sisters (nephews).

There really isn't anything else to report. Things around here have been fairly quiet! Ryan & I have been playing Super Mario Brothers for the Wii and I honestly think that game will increase the divorce rate drastically! LOL J/K! If you have played it with 2 or more players, you will understand!
