Nursery Furniture has been ordered!

After much deliberation and research, I've FINALLY ordered the crib & changing table tonight! :) I honestly did not think it would be such a difficult decision. Finding one that we both agreed on, with good reviews, & without a $1,000,000 price tag was insane! LOL Luckily though, we found one we both liked and I can wait till it's here and in the nursery! We also finally agreed on the bedding. It is on backorder but thankfully we don't need it right now so I'm hoping it's in stock in the next month so we can get it ordered and get the room painted. Here are some pictures.. we ordered the crib in Cherry not White ...

We still haven't heard from our caseworker that we are officially waiting but I expect it to be late this week or more likely sometime next week. I can't wait for that phone call!

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I can't believe it's already here. :) I love this time of year and am looking forward to spending lots of quality time with lots of family! Ryan & I are very blessed with wonderful families!!!! I'm excited about getting some baby stuff too since that's what I asked for this year! :) After Christmas, we are going to go and hopefully get the crib & bedding so we can start painting the nursery ( I need to know what color to paint it!).

I also want to wish Jesus a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Without him, we wouldn't have anything. I am so blessed to know him and have a personal relationship with him!!!!

What a week! :)

I can't believe it is already Sunday evening. :( Last week was a very busy one and it went by very fast as I'm sure this coming week will as well! The biggest news I have to report is that the home visit went VERY well on Friday! She stayed about 1 1/2 hours and asked us a few more questions. We went over the last of the paperwork and she toured the house. It was very relaxing & I wasn't nervous once she got here! She still hopes to have us approved & waiting by the end of the year. She is on vacation this coming week and has a few others in front of us so it could possibly be the 1st week in January but it will be soon!!! I'm very excited! We hope to start decorating the nursery after Christmas. She said she didn't think we would wait long which was nice to hear. Of course, we know that she has no idea how long and can not predict it. But it was still nice to hear that from her experience, she didn't think it would be too long. I'm just glad to finally be waiting and finished with all of the paperwork for now! :) The rest of our weekend was spent with family & being lazy! We finally got to see our newest nephew, Tripp outside of the hospital! He's so cute and sweet!!!! I can't wait to see him & my other 3 nephews on Thursday & again on Saturday for Christmas.

The house is squeaky clean! :)

Our home visit is scheduled for 10 am tomorrow morning! :) I'm excited but also really nervous! We just finished last minute house cleaning things and I'm finally sitting down to rest for a few minutes before bed! I don't know why I'm nervous. I love our caseworker and we have met with her twice already. She's very easy to talk to and very friendly. Also I don't see any reason why we wouldn't get approved. I guess it's more the fear of the unknown! :) I'm hoping she can tell us when we will hear if we are approved or not. I'm also hoping she's still shooting to have us approved by the end of the year! I'll probably post something else tomorrow about how it went.

On another note, I can NOT believe it's 1 week before Christmas. This year has FLOWN by especially these past few months. That's probably because we have been so busy. Between work, the adoption paperwork, and the normal seasonal activities, we haven't had much down time. I love this time of the year though and wouldn't trade it for anything! I love the smell of Christmas Trees, holiday treats, getting Christmas cards in the mail ( especially the photo ones!), secret santa, Christmas lights, spending time with friends & family & seeing our stockings hanging on the mantle everyday! Hopefully after tomorrow, things will slow down at least a little and we can enjoy our Christmas without being too stressed out! I hope everyone reading this has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sad Week! :(

What a sad week it has been. :( My step-dad's mom passed away this week. She had been sick for a couple of weeks but before that was very healthy! She definitely didn't look like she was 82 years old! I wasn't really close to her but she was a very sweet lady and I know she will be greatly missed! I feel so sad for my step-dad, my little brother, step-brothers, & the entire family! We had the funeral home tonight and have the funeral tomorrow. I pray for peace for the entire family & especially for my step-dad's father. They had been married for 59 years and 10 months. I can't imagine how he is feeling. Please say a little prayer for our family!!!

What a Journey this has been already!

I can't believe I've waited this long to start a blog! Ryan & I decided about 4 months ago to start the adoption process. We are very excited and anxious to get finished with the paperwork of the process! We have completed all of our paperwork and are just waiting on our home study to be completed by our agency. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to get on the road to starting our family! We can not wait to have a child in our lives. We love our nephews but we are ready for a child that never leaves! :) I'm not much of a writer but I really wanted to try to do a blog so that I could look back at our journey and see where we have been.
